Places, People is a selection of works written by award winning composer, pianist and improvisor Novak Manojlovic for string quartet, piano, guitar and percussion. Inspired by a deep dive into chamber and film music and influenced by Manojlovic’s experience in the indie, electronic and jazz worlds, each of the pieces which make up Places, People seeks to consecrate memory into song – ten devotionals to the places and people which prevail, and all that which does not go quietly.

Here, the ensemble celebrates the release of their eponymous record released on ABC Music in late 2021. Fresh from a performance at the renowned Sydney Opera House’s Utzon Room, Places, People will present the whole record in full.

‘Music into which you could sink as if it were a soft leather armchair…conjure[s] images before your eyes.’ – John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald.

Doors open at 6.30 pm. Performance begins at 7 pm.

Presented by Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres.
