Ainslie+Gorman are home to Canberra’s largest community of multi-disciplinary artist residencies. We offer studio spaces for local and visiting artists to pursue their creative work as residents. From music to dance, painting to writing, the diversity of our artist residencies reflect the vibrancy of the Canberra arts scene.

Located in Braddon, our venues are accessible, fostering networking and creativity. As a key part of the ACT cultural landscape, we support experimentation and innovation in art, making Ainslie+Gorman go-to destinations for the arts community and its supporters.

Please note that we are currently not accepting residency applications for Gorman due to upcoming centenary renovations. Ainslie Arts Centre, however, is open to applications.

Ainslie Residency

Ainslie Arts Centre is Canberra’s go-to hub for community and youth music vibes, offering spaces where rehearsals, jam sessions and live gigs come to life. Nestled just a stone’s throw from Lonsdale Street, its historic rooms serve a medley of artistic and community endeavors beyond music.

We offer supported co-working office accommodation for individuals and organisations who wish to work in and contribute to our vibrant and collaborative creatives community.

In addition to co-working space, we also provide residents with access to a kitchen, internet, discounted venue hire, marketing and professional development support.

Gorman Residency

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS FOR GORMAN, DUE TO THE UPCOMING CENTENARY RENOVATIONS.

Gorman Arts Centre is a historical gem repurposed for the artsy crowd. It’s where Canberra’s seasoned creatives and emerging talents converge, offering everything from cozy performance nooks and dance studios to a gallery buzzing with innovation. A quick hop from the Canberra Centre Mall, Gorman is a creative sanctuary supporting a diverse tapestry of art forms, all in the same house.

A studio at Gorman Arts Centre is a valuable opportunity to be part of our creative and diverse arts community and work alongside like-minded creative people.

In addition to studio space, we also provide studio residents with access to a kitchen, a boardroom with projector and internet, discounted venue hire, marketing and professional development support.
