BACKGROUND
We are committed to maintaining Ainslie+Gorman spaces as safe and inclusive to all. In 2019, Ainslie+Gorman embarked on a project with 6 of our resident organisations: Canberra Youth Theatre, Music for Canberra, Canberra International Music Festival, Ausdance ACT, ACT Writer’s Centre and Canberra Contemporary Art Space.
With the mentorship of Accessible Arts NSW, we worked independently and collaboratively to enhance accessibility and inclusion outcomes through Awareness Training sessions and the drafting a Disability Inclusion Action Plan for the arts centres, and for each organisation.
The completed Disability Inclusion Action Plan was published in February 2024.
As of July 2024, it was listed on the Australian Human Rights Commission‘s Register of Disability Discrimination Act Action Plans.
