Tom Sherringham has been teaching guitar (both Electric and Acoustic) for 4 years and has a flexible approach. He believes the process of learning music should be enjoyable and encouraging for the student whether it be studying Classical Guitar for AMEB exams, playing in bands, practicing a few chords to jam out some songs around the campfire or even just learning for your own personal recreation. He takes students of all ages and levels from 6 years old onwards.
He also works with Limitless Strategies, facilitating music groups for adults living with a disability at Ainslie Arts Centre and in a primary school, running music sessions for children with additional needs.
Tom has been playing guitar since age 7 and grew up in a musical family. He has played and recorded in a variety of different bands including Massive Sherlock, Zambezi Sounds, Nyash! Dollface, and The Doors – Tribute Act. Some of his performances include National Folk Festival, Multicultural Festival, Townsville – Africa in the Park, Tropfest, 3 Minute Thesis, Cobargo and Major’s Creek Folk Festival, Enlighten Festival, International Film Festivals at New Acton, Art not Apart and Day of the Dead.
