Join us at Ainslie Salon: Essential Tremors for the most original and underrepresented creative voices in music.
Essential Tremors is an ongoing exploratory music + art series curated by Angus Andrew (LIARS), first held in Sydney at Phoenix Central Park.
With iterations in NYC, Beijing, Tokyo, Akron and now Canberra as part of the Ainslie Salon program, Essential Tremors now fosters a community of creators from an international network of cities and sounds, providing emerging and left field artists of diverse traditions and cultural backgrounds the opportunity to perform on a global stage.
This installment of Essential Tremors brings internationals to the stage with Taiwanese psychedelic band Mong Tong and New York-based Chinese multidisciplinary artist and musician Otay: onii and Wurundgeri Woi Wurrung Country sound artist 黑芝麻 (Hēi zhī ma) to Ainslie Arts Centre.
What you can expect:
Mong Tong: hypnotic rhythms, dreamy melodies, and otherworldly atmospheres.
Otay: onii : Electronic, ambient, sound collage
黑芝麻 (Hēi zhī ma): spoken word, experimental ambient, pop/RnB, jungle, trance/techno
NOTE: Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, 黑芝麻 (Hēi zhī ma) can no longer perform for this show. We’ve extended the set times of the other two acts to make up for it.
