What is Dance Club?

This fabulous FREE social event for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Gender Diverse, and Intersex elders and allies is a fun way to connect, learn new dances, and chat with new friends. So, we invite you to dust off your dancing shoes and bring along friends, families and allies – all are welcome to this intergenerational gathering.

Dance Club was conceived of by Melbourne-based group All The Queens Men (ATQM) – an independent arts organisation founded by award-winning performance artists Tristan Meecham and Bec Reid. ATQM has become a leading creative voice within the LGBTI+ community nationally and internationally, most specifically for championing the rights of LGBTI+ elders.

The LGBTIQ+ Elders Dance Club Canberra was spearheaded in 2020, with ATQM partnering with Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres and Meridian ACT to provide a safe, inclusive and fun social environment for LGBTIQ+ elders in the Canberra community.
