Textured divide

Joining us this month at Gorman Arts Centre is Wellington/Te Whananui-a-Tara based artist Tyler Jackson, who is visiting Canberra as part of the 2022 DESIGN Canberra Festival.

Graduating from Massy University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Tyler’s practice focuses on creating lighting devices that explore the perception of light and colour, encouraging audience participation through large scale installations.

His latest exhibition ‘Aurora’ is a sound and light installation, featuring audio production from sound artist and producer Jackie Jenkins. This collection of new works question our perceptions of light and space in this rapidly developing technological age. You can read the catalogue essay by Anja Loughhead here, courtesy of Canberra Contemporary Art Space.

‘Aurora’ is on show at Canberra Contemporary Art Space until 27 November 2022 as part of the DESIGN Canberra Festival.
