Two community groups join forces in a fusion of world music (Shortis and Simpson’s Worldly Goods Choir) and dance (Canberra Dance Theatre’s GOLD dancers). The result is a fascinating mélange of rhythm, harmony, shape and texture.
The participants have experimented with various creative experiences- group songwriting and composition, improvisation, interpreting musical processes in dance and vice versa, using languages and vocal drum rhythms as a starting point, and more.
The main narrative comes from the participants, as they speak in their own words of their experiences of communal singing and dancing- the joys, the delights, the fears, the discovery.
The World At Our Feet is uplifting, surprising, innovative, and inclusive, a celebration of community participation. Click here for more information.
