The Lampshade Workroom offers popular no-sew, modern lampshade-making workshops in the lovely Ainslie Arts Centre. Participants learn to create professional-quality drum or tapered shades in a choice of sizes.

All tools and supplies (except fabric) are provided and morning tea is included. In this beginner-level event you will learn how to make your own lampshade, in a series of well-paced steps suitable for all ages from 16 years up.

This is your entrée to the wonderful world of lampshade making, where you get to decide the fabric, shape & size of your new lampshade!

Handmade lampshades have the power to transform ordinary rooms into cozy, welcoming spaces you adore being in.

Your teacher, professional shade-maker Kate Malfroy, has a background in upholstery, a love of beautiful textiles, and a passion for helping students discover a love of this great craft.
