Ausdance ACT are delighted to present this special workshop specifically for schools with the incredible Peng Hsiao-yin (Grace) from Dancecology Taiwan during 2025 Australian Dance Week.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to film an original and creative self-portrait video in the form of dance film: the power of using body language and cinematic skills to express yourself. Through the creative process, Peng Hsiao-yin, will guide the participants to design or choreograph movements and gesture to express themselves, and film the choreography with professional filming techniques.

This workshop will provide a great way to get your students engaged in dance film making ahead of Youth Dance Festival. Dance film can also be incorporated as multimedia into your live performance. Dance films can be submitted as a separate or additional Youth Dance Fest entry. Students will need to use their own mobile phone in the workshop.

The workshop is suitable for students aged 12-18 years and their teachers. The workshop fee is subsidised by Ausdance ACT at $25 per student with accompanying teacher for free.

Ausdance ACT’s Workshop Series is presented with support from Gorman Arts Centre
